"body": "## Context\n\nRaised by Juan Pedro Bolivar Puente in #nixmac on 2026-05-23:\n\n> \"The ergonomics of working in `nixmac` are somewhat diminished by having to go to `apps/native` for a lot of stuff. Since this is the only app really in this repo (and probably will be so for a long time, the open-sourcing being a factor here) would you people be keen to moving the app up to the repo root?\"\n\nCooper's response indicated the repo structure is partly inverted because only the web parts need to be private, and that using copybara was being explored.\n\nCurrently the main app source lives at `apps/native/` which means contributors constantly navigate multiple directory levels for common Rust/Tauri work.\n\n## Scope\n\n* Move `apps/native/` contents (or symlink / restructure) so the app is at the repo root or at a shallower path\n* Update all build scripts, CI workflows, IDE config, and imports accordingly\n* Consider the open-sourcing implication: keep whatever needs to be private in a sub-path\n\n## Acceptance Criteria / Gherkin Specs\n\n```gherkin\nScenario: Rust source is at the repo root or one level deep\n Given the migration is complete\n When a contributor clones the repo\n Then they can run cargo build from the repo root without cd into apps/native\n And Cargo.toml exists at the top level or one directory below\n\nScenario: CI workflows continue to pass after restructure\n Given the repo root has been restructured\n When the CI pipeline runs\n Then all existing build, test, and lint jobs complete successfully\n And no job fails due to hard-coded apps/native paths\n\nScenario: IDE tooling (rust-analyzer, VSCode) works from repo root\n Given the app is at a shallower path\n When a contributor opens the repo in VSCode with the standard nix devenv\n Then rust-analyzer resolves types and imports correctly\n And no additional configuration is needed to get full IDE support\n\nScenario: Tauri CLI commands work without path prefixes\n Given the restructure is complete\n When a contributor runs standard Tauri commands (e.g., tauri dev)\n Then the commands succeed from the repo root\n And no wrapper script or cd is needed\n```",
