"body": "## Context\n\nRaised in #nixmac on 2026-05-28 by Cooper:\n\n> \"I noticed it errors out sometimes saying 'it looks like the AI is having trouble since there have been 18 attempts' — but at this point rather than erroring, it should give me a yes/no to decide if I want to keep going. because when it errors, it loses the context on the next attempt\"\n\nCurrently when the evolution hits its max retry/attempt ceiling the app surfaces a hard error and the user must restart — losing all conversation context built up in that session.\n\n## Desired Outcome\n\nWhen the attempt limit is reached, instead of immediately erroring out, show an interactive prompt asking the user if they want to continue. If the user says yes, continue from where the loop left off (preserving existing context). If the user says no, gracefully conclude and show a summary.\n\n## Acceptance Criteria / Gherkin Specs\n\n```gherkin\nScenario: Evolution reaches attempt limit — user chooses to keep going\n Given an evolution has been running and reaches the configured max retry count\n When the limit is hit\n Then the app shows a prompt: \"The AI has made N attempts. Keep going?\"\n And the user can choose \"Yes, keep going\" or \"Stop\"\n When the user selects \"Yes, keep going\"\n Then the evolution resumes from the existing context without losing history\n\nScenario: Evolution reaches attempt limit — user chooses to stop\n Given an evolution has been running and reaches the configured max retry count\n When the limit is hit and the user selects \"Stop\"\n Then the evolution ends gracefully\n And the app shows a neutral summary (not a red error banner)\n And no context window data is lost unnecessarily\n\nScenario: Evolution limit prompt is non-blocking for automated/CI scenarios\n Given an evolution is running in a non-interactive context\n When the attempt limit is reached\n Then the app defaults to stopping (does not hang waiting for input)\n And a clear message is logged indicating the limit was reached\n```",
